About Bill
First time author Bill Handy fulfilled a lifetime desire of sharing one of the many Christian Western stories that mold his way of thinking. A love for God and the Western area have driven the writing a story that has developed over a three year period. A father of three, grandfather to six. He is a dedicated husband and a successful manager for more than thirty years as a leader.
The Civil War is over, but the struggles are far from finished. Reverend John Williams is about to start a new chapter of his life. He’s traveling from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to El Paso, Texas, to continue his ministry in a country still divided by war. Knowing the dangers ahead, he asks Deputy Sheriff Elijah Adams—an ex-Confederate soldier and now a lawman in El Paso—to help protect him.
Blood Covering El Paso Trail takes you into the heart of the South during Reconstruction. Elijah is torn between the beliefs he grew up with and the Reverend’s message of brotherhood for all. As they travel, they meet newly freed Black people, face dangerous groups, and find themselves on a mission they never expected.
The author, Bill Handy, crafts a compelling read for everyone.
